Floor restoration and sanding
A restored wooden floor can make a massive difference to your home. It is a cost effective way of enhancing the look and feel of a room, whilst maintaining the character of your property; be it a period house, modern build or somewhere in between.
Repairs and pre-sanding
All floors are different and as a wooden floor restorer, my philosophy is to make each unique to the room and house it is in. Before sanding, the floor is prepared by fixing down any loose boards, repairing or replacing split, rotten or damaged boards and removing any staples, carpet tacks or nails that may be in the floor. I can even remove old hearths and replace with boards of the similar style.
Floor sanding and floor restoration
After all the preparation is complete, it's on to the floor sanding itself. The heavy-duty professional, dust-free sanding machines can cope with the most stubborn, uneven floors, leaving a flat, scratch free, smooth finish. Using a specialist edging machine, floors can be sanded right to the skirting boards and even under radiators. The process is finished using a hand sander for any hard to reach areas, and a specialised finishing sander to leave the floor beautifully smooth.
After the sanding is complete, the finish can be applied. This is completely bespoke to you. I offer a range of finishes to suit the decor of the room, the wood itself and of course, your personal taste. Using premium, quick drying, lacquers, stains, colours and oils in a range of matt or gloss finishes, your floor will be sealed and protected for years to come, as well as looking beautiful.
